With an array of beautiful colours, textures and finishes, the worktop surface you choose is also going to be one of the most used elements of your kitchen. At Searle & Taylor, we partner with some of the world’s most influential quartz, stone, granite and composite worktop brands, including Dekton and Silestone and we also work with independent stone suppliers to bring you more unusual surfaces for your kitchen.
We only sell complete kitchens with worktops, which means that we will organise the fabrication of the pieces working directly from our designs, and we will store them safely in our fully insured warehouse until the entire kitchen is ready to be installed.
At the entrance to our Winchester showroom is our Classic Bespoke kitchen display handpainted in Cordoba by Little Greene. The centrepiece is a circular kitchen island with a Lemurian Blue granite worktop that features flecks of blue, black, green, turquoise and gold. This surface is rich in labradorite, a mineral that displays these beautiful light-reflective colours. Within the surface is a Miele induction wok, a Kaelo integrated wine cooler and a concealed remote-controlled pop-up spice rack with a slimline TV on the reverse.
Also on the ground floor, is a contemporary Scandi kitchen display with horizontal slatted island that features a 30mm thick White Macaubus granite worktop opposite a run of cabinetry with a 60mm thick built-up worktop in the same material. Integrated within the island’s surface is a flush-mounted Siemens Studio Line vented induction hob with blade downdraft extractor.
On the mezzanine, our floor-to-ceiling traditional Classic Bespoke display is handpainted in Manor House Grey by Farrow & Ball. It features a granite worktop in a mottled grey with a white vein throughout. We also showcase a handmade circular condiment cabinet with a top that incorporates an onyx inset that can be lit up at night.
In our stunning contemporary Garden Room with a view of Winchester Cathedral, we feature a range of surface materials by Dekton in an EWE handleless glass-fronted display. The showpiece waterfall kitchen island features book matched Dekton worktops and end panels in Reverie with book matched 4mm Dekton Slim drawer fronts. This features A Gaggenau Cooktop at the centre, with a Novy Pureline Frame Recirculation Island Hood above it. We also feature a Gin Cabinet with a beautiful Starburst veneered front that complements the Starburst veneered dining table in this room.
On the lower ground floor, our Classic Bespoke walk-in pantry features walnut cabinetry with doors and drawers painted in Downpipe by Farrow & Ball. At the centre is a splashback in 4mm Dekton Slim in Aura colourway, which can be combined with the same surface for your worktop in a 20mm, 30mm or 80mm thicknesses. Because it is so lightweight, Dekton Slim can also be used to clad doors and drawers for a uniform effect in your kitchen.
In our Scandi Bespoke roomset, also on the lower ground floor, we feature a handmade bespoke Scandi kitchen with fluted vertical concave slatted fronts used as accents on the tall cabinetry and for the door fronts in the island. The central island features an 80mm thick concrete waterfall worktop by CRL Stone that provides a seamless appearance. In addition, there is a larder cabinet with liquid metal fronts.
We receive training from each of the international brands we work with so we can help and advise you about each type of stone or composite including details about durability and heat resistance. We also have a wide range of worktop samples at our Winchester showroom that we will present to you. We are open Monday to Friday so you can always pop in to seek inspiration in advance, or if you want to discuss worktop options in detail, we request you book an appointment.
